A century of <i>Public Administration</i> : Traveling through time and topics

Public Administration (PA) has been a unique witness and protagonist of scholarship in the field public administration over course an entire century. On occasion journal's 100th anniversary, we conduct systematic analysis publication history using bibliometric methods enhanced by natural language processing. The findings show how disciplinary influences, geographical settings, methodological orientations have changed time. In our main analysis, extract 63 thematic clusters on basis linguistic similarities track their evolution through five eras PA scholarship. Overall, results both strong British roots its evolvement toward increasingly international, interdisciplinary, dynamic community. also indicate state as “fragmented adhocracy,” with changing modes differentiation
